“Carpe Diem – because living to the fullest also means helping others.”
Carpe Diem is more than just a music event – it’s a living testament that the combination of passion, empathy, and professionalism can create a truly powerful platform for helping others. This charity project connects the world of electronic music and contemporary art with support for people facing difficult life situations.
Behind the event stands a team of four enthusiasts – general practitioner and trumpeter Vít Šimeček (VIIITO), psychiatrist and saxophonist František Šalanda (Saxofrancis / John Sarkander), general practitioner Gabriela Chytrová, and producer Tomáš Hašek. The connection between medicine and music here is not only symbolic – it is an authentic expression of a life philosophy:
“Carpe Diem – seize the day.”
The first edition took place in 2021 in the city of Most, with proceeds supporting Kateřina Sasáková, who suffers from the autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis. Later editions supported, for example, infant care institutions in the Ústí region, or the non-profit organization Nevypusť Duši, which focuses on mental health awareness. Over the following years, Carpe Diem grew and began to attract attention not only from visitors but also from the media. The project was featured in a report on Óčko TV as well as during prime time on TV Prima’s ShowTime.
The last three editions, including the upcoming one, support the organization Nové Háro, which creates wigs for children with cancer. These wigs help children regain self-confidence and feel good during the difficult period of treatment. The proceeds from this year’s edition will also be directed toward this cause.
The seventh edition will take place on May 31, 2025, at the iconic Hněvín Castle, where art, movement, joy, and charity will come together. The music lineup will feature both international and local artists – the main headliner will be SPADA, a renowned Italian producer with more than 150 million streams on Spotify. From abroad, MANU BS (Spain) and Chris Gavin (France) will perform, while the Czech scene will be represented by names such as Melvin Coxx, Theresia, Wolf, Andy Smitth, Marcel K, and SNBM. Naturally, the founding duo John Sarkander and VIIITO will also be part of the lineup.
The accompanying program includes podcasts, physiotraining, dance and relaxation zones, scenic viewpoints, as well as spaces for reflection, sharing, and connection with others. Carpe Diem is therefore not just an event, but a community experience – a celebration of life in all its forms.
Tickets are available in advance via the GoOut network, currently in the third wave. By purchasing a ticket, visitors not only become part of a unique day, but also contribute to helping children battling cancer rediscover joy in everyday things – like a new hairstyle and a smile in the mirror.
